I’m not a big fan of sharing my regular dog dish (just ask my pal Daisy), but I’m thrilled to serve up this Dog Dish, my very first blog!
My story: I’m Dash, a Clumber Spaniel, a divinely, outrageously fluffy breed (think: clouds with paws). I have one of those really long fancy names, but my family and my buddies just call me Dash. I’m not a sprinter by nature, but if there’s food involved, I’ll beat anybody to the finish line, trust me.
I look after my dear mom—D&A founder and design maestro Annie Selke—and her hubby, Whitney, and daughter, Charlotte. The Dash & Albert Rug Company was named after me and Annie’s Basset Hound, Albert, who’s gone to the Big Dog Park in the sky. Now Daisy, a Clumber like me, helps run the D&A ship.
We do product-testing (nap-ratings; claw-resistance trials; etc.) and dropped-lunch patrol at company headquarters. It’s a great job: terrific humans, plenty of pats and biscuits, flexible hours, lots of soft things to sleep on.
From time to time, Daisy will weigh in at The Dog Dish on topics like Doggie Décor and Canine Couture. Miss Daisy has some pretty strong opinions when it comes to aesthetics, and I know better than to get in her way.
A brand-new website and a brand-new blog a la dog! These are mighty exciting times for the Dash & Albert Rug Company, and we’re thrilled that you’re along for the ride (but keep your head and paws inside at all times—don’t want to get a bug in your ear, yuck).
So let’s woof it up! Email me at dash@dashandalbert.com with any dishy, dashy thoughts or questions. (I am a veritable font of all-around wisdom, which I’m doggie-lighted to share with the world.)
And if you’re a D&A devotee, send along pics of canines lolling about on Dash & Albert rugs. I just might post them here…and confer upon you the much-coveted title of D&A Dog of the Month!
Dishily yours,
Dash
